“Duracel” Jones Headlines 'Eastend Explosion' Card

British promoter Mickey Helliet, has put together an interesting card at the legendary York Hall in London’s East End on Saturday, November 5, with well-matched and competitive fights from top to bottom.

Headlining “East End Explosion”, as the show is labeled, in a ten rounder, will be WBO # 4 Featherweight contender Ben Jones (21-5-1, 10 KOs), who is closing in on a shot at World Champion Oscar Valdez from Mexico.

But “Duracel” Jones, a former English, WBO European, IBO International and WBO Intercontinental champion, has to be fully focused on Saturday’s task.

In the opposite corner will be 26-year-old Nicaraguan Carlos Osorio (13-5, 5 KOs), who sees this as a great opportunity to gatecrash the world rankings and put himself in Jones´ position. Coming off a September victory over former IBF world title-challenger Carlos Rueda, he is brimming with confidence going in.

“I cant remember making such a competitive fight-card with so many fighters with positive records boxing each other”, said Mickey Helliet, and revealed that Highlights from the show will be televised in the UK by Channel 4 in the coming weeks.

“Fair play to all the guys for stepping up. Proper 50/50 fights throughout the card, so a very interesting night lies ahead. People should come to York Hall and experience the great atmosphere and some great fights.”

On the undercard, undefeated Super Welterweight Tony Milch (11-0, 1 KO) takes on Hungarian Ferenc Katona (6-2, 3 KOs) in what is on paper an intriguing match-up, while American Heavyweight Donnie Palmer (8-1-1, 7 KOs) makes his UK debut against Marios Kollias (3-1, 3 KOs) from Greece.

Also in action will be lightweight prospect Jack Raines (1-0), who will be in with Roland Farago (3-2, 2 KOs) from Hungary, who has made a good account of himself on two previous visits to the UK, and unbeaten Light Welterweight hope Siar Ozgul (10-0, 1 KO) against battle-tested Slovakian Ivan Godor (17-40-4, 6 KOs).

The ten-bout card, also includes the professional debut of Ipswich-Heavyweight Fabio Wardley, and fights involving prospects Spiros Demetriou (5-0, 1 KO), Ricardo Coker (1-0), Ryan Maycock (1-0) and Davis Pagan (2-0).
