Donaire Stops Bedak In 3

Former four weight world champion Nonito Donaire made a triumphant return on home soil on Saturday night by scoring a third round tko over Hungarian Zsolt Bedak at the outdoor Cebu City Sports Complex in the Philippines.

 

The 25,000 Filipinos in attendance witnessed Donaire score three knockdowns before the fight was stopped after 2:44 of Round 3.

 

Donaire, 37-3- (24), wobbled Bedak, 25-2- (8), with left hooks, uppercuts and lightening fast counter punches against a fighter that should never have been allowed to share the ring . Donaire was defending his WBO junior featherweight title.

 

Donaire said after the fight that he will now seek showdowns with Guillermo Rigondeaux, Carl Frampton and Hugo Ruiz.
