Jeyvier Cintrón, will defend his WBO Latino 115lbs title against Panamanian Ricardo "El Matemático" Nunez in the main bout on October 31, at the WBO Convention at the Vasco Núñez de Balboa Convention Center in Panama City, Panama.

"There is a change of rival for Jeyvier and now it will be the veteran Ricardo Núñez, a fighter who has experience in world title fights and has fought with good rivals in his career," said Peter Rivera, vice president of PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP), who works Cintron’s career.

Cintron (8-0, 4 kos), a two-time Puerto Rican Olympian promoted by Top Rank, has just become the WBO Latino champion at 115 pounds on September 1 when he defeated the Mexican Francisco Alonso Melendez by a wide unanimous decision. Now he will face at 10 rounds to Núñez (29-8, 23 kos), who has two world fights in his record (lost to Moruti Mathalane and Juan Carlos Reveco for the IBF and WBA titles in 2012 and 2013, respectively) and comes from a defeat by technical decision in seven rounds against former world champion Carlos Cuadras.

For Cintron, ranked ninth by the WBO at 115 pounds and who also holds the WBO Youth World title at 118 pounds, the clash against Nunez will be his seventh in 2018.

Several WBO regional belt fights complete the program presented by PRBBP and G & V Entertainment.

In one of them, the Costa Rican Francisco Fonseca (22-1-1, 16 kos) defends his WBO Latino belt in 130 pounds against the Dominican Yohan Vásquez (21-2, 18 kos) to 10 rounds. Yenifel Vicente (33-3-2, 25 kos) will defend his WBO Latino title at 122 pounds against Mexican Víctor Proa (29-5-2, 22 kos). For the vacant WBO Latin title in 108 pounds, the Argentinean Agustín Mauro Gauto (9-0, 5 kos) will face the Nicaraguan Carlos Buitrago (30-4-1, 17 kos).

Meanwhile, for the vacant WBO world Youth title at 126 pounds, Puerto Rican Jean Carlos Rivera (15-0, 10 kos) will fight against the American Jason Sanchez (12-0, 6 kos) to eight rounds.
