By D. Mossienko at ringside An Afro-Ukrainian 19 years old welterweight prospect Vladyslav Baranov (- 5(3)-1) - won his debut fight with Vostok Promotion against rugged Georgian 26 years old warrior Nikoloz Gviniashvili (13(9)-5-3) in a non-title six rounds clash .

The bout headlined Vostock Promotion’s debut international boxing card organized in association with the National Boxing League in the crowded Kiev’s ArtPrichal Gallery on the shore of Dniepr river. Baranov’s pro career launched in 2015 after winning several meaningful international tournaments in amateur ranks and some 200 wins under his belt. Stubborn and in perfect physical condition the Georgian fighter knew he would need to do his best in order to win in Baranov’s back yard, so he mounted pressure from the second minute of the first round. Baranov did not mind to work in counter punching style and showed a good footwork. Initially his jab would very timely pepper Nikoloz, however, the Georgian adjusted and from second round his bobbing and waving made him easily entering the close quarters. Baranov had to adjust to the Georgian’s aggressive, jokes aside style.

Gviniashvily obviously out-punched the Ukrainian opponent, but the vast majority landed on Baranov’s careful defense. In his turn, Baranov landed accurate counter punches and would outwit the Georgean in the tough punches exchanges.

The final round saw Nikoloz rushing forward with a last ditch effort, but those were Baranov’s two crisp rights to the head in the final seconds of final round, that the judges remembered the best. Apparently, Gviniashvili’s storming effort in the middle rounds impressed the judges, as Baranov was given split and a very close decision win. The two bloodied warriors hugged as the audience greeted the winner.

Well organized and presented in style Vostock Promotions’ card featured another international contest between Ukraine’s prospect Eduard Skavinsky (3(1)-0) and Latvian Aleksejs Palcuns (7(7)-6). Hard hitting Latvian did not have a smallest opportunity to fulfill his tactical game plan, as Skavinsky rushed forward with brutal onslaught. The fight was cancelled in round one after 3rd knock downs, as Palcuns could hardly appreciate where he was and what was going on.

Another hard hitting Ukrainian prospect Stanyslav Skorokhod (10 (8)-1) from Slavutych brutally punished and stopped in round 3 his very experience journeyman opponent (21-60-2) Volodymyr Borovsky.
