Each week, Gerry will answer as many of your questions as he can on the Sirius XM radio show “Friday Night at The Fights,” a show Gerry co-hosts with Randy “The Commish” Gordon, former Chairman of the New York State Athletic Commission.
The show airs every Friday on Sirius channel 92 and XM channel 208 from 6 – 8 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.
Our first question came from Gene C., who asks:
Gerry, what’s the one fight out there that you personally would like to see?
Our next question comes from Tom D., who asks:
Gerry, in your era, were you aware of any type of steroid use or any other kind of similar cheating?
Gerry answered the following questions on last week’s show.
Our first question came from Ken D., who asked:
Gerry, I remember watching the Emile Griffith-Benny “Kid” Paret fight on the old “Friday Night at the Fights” with my dad. It more or less ended boxing for years until Muhammad Ali came along. Do you have any memories of Emile Griffith?
Gerry remembered Emile as a very nice, kind and classy man.
Our next question comes from Jimmy G., who asks:
Hi, Gerry; love the show! I was at the Paramount in your old stomping grounds in Huntington, Long Island for the [Chris] Algieri-[Mike] Arnaoutis fight and I have to say, Algieri looked great! Does beating a guy like Arnaoutis move Algieri into contention?
Gerry felt the Arnaoutis fight was a big steppingstone for Algieri.
