Arreola vs. Mitchell: A little lighter and ready to go

With their respective boxing careers on the line, Chris Arreola and Seth Mitchell both tipped the scales at 242 pounds last night.

The heavyweights will battle tonight (September 7) at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA.

The fight can be seen live on Showtime Championship Boxing.

Arreola (35-3, 30 KOs) is coming off a 12-round thumping at the hands of Bermaine Stiverne. He was six pounds heavier for that scuffle, but insists that he’s in superior shape for his showdown with Mitchell.

Mitchell (26-1-1, 19 KOs), defeated Johnathon Banks last June to avenge his only career loss. Many question whether his chin can withstand Arreola’s power. Mitchell, who played college football, is without doubt the superior athlete, but Arreola has an advantage in experience.
