Light welterweight contender Lucas Martin Matthysse scored a retirement win over Angel “Arcangel” Martinez at the Gimnasio Municipal in Trelew, Chubut, Argentina on Friday night.
Martinez failed to come out for the sixth round
Matthysse now looks like he could face Humberto “Zorrita” Soto at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on May 19 for the world title.

At the Club Once Unidos in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Johnriel Casimero of the Philippines scored a 10th round tko win over former world champion Luis Lazarte in a clash for the IBF Interim light flyweight title.
In an untidy matchup both men had points deducted. Casimero decked Lazarte twice in the ninth. After Lazarte was floored again and was taking more shots, the bout was stopped.
The stoppage loss was received badly from some portions of the crowd who threw chairs into the ring and reportedly attacked Casimero’s handlers.
