Anthony Joshua is due to meet Charles Martin for the IBF heavyweight title at the 02 this Saturday. But on the week he faces the biggest challenge of his professional career Joshua decided to have a verbal war on twitter with undisputed heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

It all started back in February when we caught up with Tyson Fury back stage after the Frampton v Quiqq fight in Manchester. We asked the heavyweight champion what was his thoughts on Anthony Joshua and is he ready to fight someone of his calibre? Tyson Fury’s response was very precise and direct.

"AJ’s a bum, Aj’s what you call a weight lifter, a body builder. I’m the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, beat a man that no one could beat. If you don’t mind don’t mention a bum , 15 fight novice. In the same breath as the number one heavyweight on the planet, the best fighter on the planet.

"Because I tell you what I do to him, I would take him apart like a Lion ripping a gazelle’s throat out." Fury seemed agitated at this point and he carried on with his verbal attack on Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.

"I think Wilder would knock AJ out but Wilder is only a Pussy anyway, so he is what he is. He’s a skinny pussy man. They’re all Pussie’s, they’re all pussie’s hows that. I’m the man, the only man, the best heavyweight on the planet. The best fighter on the planet always, line them up i’ll ravish them for you all."

Anthony Joshua was unresponsive to Fury’s verbal attack ’s , but earlier today Joshua finally responded to Fury’s insult’s via his twitter account: "@Tyson_Fury keep on praying for my downfall fat boy. I’ll see you soon. 1 fury at a time."

Both fighters were going back and forth with insults and it didn’t take long before it became a talking point on social media. If Anthony Joshua defeats Charles Martin this Saturday night and Fury defeats Klitschko in the rematch which is yet to be confirmed. This fight could potentially happen at some point down the line and I can’t remember ever seeing an all British world heavyweight unification fight.
