Promoter Bob Arum has ruled out a clash between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and undisputed world middleweight king Sergio Martinez-for the time being at least.
Although the WBC have confirmed that their diamond middleweight champion Martinez has been nominated to face WBC champ Chavez Jr, Arum does not believe there is enough money yet to justify the fight taking place.
Speaking to mysanontonio.com Arum said: “No, not Martinez [for June 2nd or September 15th]. There’s not enough money to do that fight. It’s not a pay-per-view fight yet.”
