A December 10 world heavyweight title bout between IBF champion Anthony Joshua and former champ Wladimir Klitschko is hanging in the balance due to awaiting a decision on whether or not the WBA title will be on the line.
Joshua was expected to defend his IBF crown against Klitschko in Manchester on December 10 it is believed Klitschko also wanted the vacant WBA title on the as well but so that has not been confirmed
World Boxing Association president Gilberto Mendoza was due to announce whether or not the WBA will sanction the fight in the next 24 hours but so far no decision has been made.
Mendoza told ESPN: "The members of the committee have a deadline until (Wednesday) to respond”
Rumours circulating around the internet suggest that Klitschko has a desire to claim back the WBA title and may have lined up a bout in Hamburg, Germany on the same date. Australian Lucas Browne is a name being banded around as a possible opponent.
