Boxing and poker – maybe a start on something new?

Even though both sports are known for intense action and rough characters, boxing and poker aren’t usually combined. This didn’t stop Gus Hansen (known as one of the biggest full tilt poker names)and Danish poker pro Theo Jorgensen from duking it out. Both know as skilled poker players in both the online poker and live tournament circuit, did quite well as shown in the video.

Wade’s chances against Golovkin viewed as slim-to-none

By John J. Raspanti: WBA and IBF middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin will be gunning for knockout victory number 22 in a row when he faces little-known Dominic Wade April 23rd) at the Fabulous Forum in Los Angeles, CA. Wade, the IBF’s mandatory challenger, gained his dubious shot against Golovkin by beating veteran Sam Solliman last June. Golovkin admitted a few months ago that he’d never heard of the 25-year-old Wade, who was born in Largo, Maryland. He’s not the only one... Wade’s chances against Golovkin viewed as slim-to-none

What’s Next For Gennady Golovkin?

By Nicholas Phillipowsky: On Saturday, October 17, 2015, in front of a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden, Gennady Golovkin (34-0-31) thoroughly dominated David Lemieux (34-3-31). The fight was expected to be Golovkin’s toughest fight to date, however David Lemieux proved to be little threat to derailing Golovkin’s run of twenty consecutive knockouts. Lemieux, a big puncher himself, met the same fate as Golovkin’s last twenty opponents, as he was stopped in the... What’s Next For Gennady Golovkin?

Ward Needs GGG More than GGG Needs Ward

By Ken Hissner: WBA super middleweight champion Andre “S.O.G.” Ward recently bad mouthed GGG by calling him “little G”. It wasn’t Gennady “GGG” Golovkin turning down Ward but his management per Ward. For a boxer like Ward who hasn’t defended his WBA title going on two years in November and losing the WBC title for not defending it for even longer he really has a lot of nerve. Granted there is no one at super middleweight to challenge him but he should defend against his No. 1 contender or... Ward Needs GGG More than GGG Needs Ward

Boxing’s “Triangle” Between Golovkin, Kovalev and Ward

By Ken Hissner: There are not enough “super star” boxers in the game today. Now we have one of them in WBA super middleweight champion Andre “S.O.G.” Ward, 28-0, who stepped away from boxing for 19 months due to “promoter problems” coming back and “kinda” calling out people like Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, 33-0, WBA middleweight and WBC interim champion and probably the second best P4P boxer in the world today. By Jason Gonzalez (Image by icheehuahua, MaxBoxing): Brooklyn, NY - Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf? The 2013 K9 Awards: Part One

By Steve Kim: Another year has come and passed and it was another 12-month period where we didn’t see Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather square off. And guess what? It was actually still a very eventful and entertaining year for the sport of boxing, regardless. Better yet, it wasn’t completely overtaken by the MMA! (OK, I’m being facetious there.) Developing Deontay Wilder

Gabriel Montoya: It’s been a long time since the United States had a legit badass heavyweight contender. It’s been 6 long years since Chris Byrd lost his IBF heavyweight title to Wladimir Klitschko. Looking around the landscape, Europe has a few hopefuls. Robert Helenius, David Price, and Tyson Fury all have potential to be developed into fighters who can win a world title.
