Not Exactly an “Oktoberfest” for Boxing

By Steve Kim: There’s been a lot of entertaining stuff on HBO in October. I’ve enjoyed “Boardwalk Empire” (which, for my money, might soon be up there with “The Sopranos” or “The Wire” in due time). It’s great to have Bill Maher back; no matter what your political philosophy is, this show is always good for few laughs. And Kenny Powers, well, that’s who I want to be when I grow up. But there is something missing from my... Not Exactly an “Oktoberfest” for Boxing

I said that? My 2009 Preview Review - Part II

Martin Mulcahey: In part one of my annual preview-review I lamented that readers who visit multiple boxing websites are sure to notice how easy it is for journalists to make predictions. They are certain in the knowledge that few will remember what they wrote in a year’s time. But I feel that writing for Maxboxing is to be held to a higher standard. With those thoughts in mind, every year I venture back in time and review my predictions for the previous year. I, again, encourage readers to take I said that? My 2009 Preview Review - Part II

Preview and predictions for 2010 – Part II

Martin Mulcahey: In part two of this yearly series six more weight classes are evaluated, traveling north in weight from featherweight to jr. middleweight. In part one the weight classes covered were from strawweight up to jr. featherweight, and I gave my prediction on a champion that will stay, champion that will go, and a prospect to keep an eye on. The titlists from the IBF, WBA, WBC, and WBO were considered in selecting the champions who I believe will keep or lose their title. The only Preview and predictions for 2010 – Part II
