Molina vs. Smith at the Hard Rock Casino, Las Vegas

--
--

Boxing returns to one of the top venues in Las Vegas next month, as Carlos Molina takes his long-awaited title shot against Ishe Smith for the IBF Light Middleweight championship at the Hard Rock Casino.

His DQ loss to James Kirkland aside – in a match Molina was fully dominating when his corner mistakenly got in the ring believing the round to be over – the 30-year old Mexican has rocked the light middleweight division in the last five years, and looks set to grab his well overdue opportunity with both gloves on the 19th July.

Molina is the IBF’s mandatory challenger for Smith’s title; a designation which has only really been created so that fighters can’t duck out of matches for whatever reason. With some preferring not to take on certain boxers because of the physical risk of a fight far outweighing the underwhelming financial rewards involved, the Hard Rock Casino should be sold out all the same for this encounter.

Ishe Smith hopes that his first defence of the IBF title will not be his last. In February he took Cornelius Bundrage the full distance; winning by split decision to become the champ, and then famously broke down in tears within the ring. The next fight is sure to be an even more emotional occasion for Smith, so it’s hoped that he can remain professional enough to try to dispatch a fighter who’s keen to impress in the biggest fight of his career so far.

Anyone who will be keen to catch the action at the Hard Rock Casino will not be left wanting for diversions before and after the fight – as Las Vegas is the tourism capital of the world, you’ll never be short of something to do when the gloves are off. Check out one of the many other shows offered on the Strip – from concerts by the best-known singers to magic shows which will amaze the eye. Of course there are the actual casinos too; with plenty of different games to suit anyone. Why not check out the different-themed slots games – or if you want to get some practice in, you should check out www.ladbrokes.com first. The Hard Rock Casino is one of the biggest venues in Vegas, so be sure to see all the sights while you’re visiting.

While the Smith-Molina fight won’t exactly set the world of pay-per-view alight, it should be an interesting world title encounter between a hungry challenger and a champion for whom the belt means everything. Who will triumph at the Hard Rock Casino?
