Bika Rematches Dirrell On August 16

Australian boxer SAKIO “THE SCORPION” BIKA will defend his WBC super-middleweight title for the second time against undefeated American ANTHONY “THE DOG” DIRRELL, on 16th August 2014 at the StubHub Centre, Carson, California.

Sakio drew with Dirrell in their first world title bout last year, and the Australian has revealed it was fellow world champion Carl Froch’s defeat of George Groves that inspired him to pursue a rematch with Dirrell.“I was at Wembley in May to watch Carl Froch knock out George Groves. I was impressed by the way Froch handled his unfinished business with George Groves and now I want to do the same with Dirrell”

“I felt I won the first fight with Dirrell and I’m happy my management team has been able to organise a rematch to show the world that I am the undisputed WBC champion”“Dirrell was very lucky to get the draw. I was the busier fighter – throwing and landing the most punches – and I dropped him with a body shot which was counted as a low blow!”

“I will be in the best shape of my professional career in August and will show boxing fans around the world that “The Dog” is all bark and no bite! And then I am going after Froch!”

SAKIO BIKA’s career record is 32 wins (21 by KO), 5 loses and 3 draws. SAKIO won the Australian middleweight title, before his victory in Season 3 of the American reality TV show ‘THE CONTENDER’. He won the IBF Pan Pacific, NABF, WBO Inter-Continental and IBO super-middleweight titles before beating undefeated Mexican Marco Antonio Periban in June 2013 to be crowned the WBC super-middleweight champion of the world.Share the post "Bika vs. Dirrell II on August 16th in Carson, California"532
