Our first question comes from Ken D., who asks:
Hi Gerry, as I watched Floyd Mayweather completely dominate Saul Alvarez, it dawned on me that every time Mayweather fights, many fans feel each opponent is the one who will finally dethrone him. Well, 45 have failed to do that and I actually think Floyd is the best fighter I’ve ever seen. Do you agree?
Our next question comes from Rick J., who asks:
Gerry, I’ve heard that Floyd Mayweather may actually end up with a 60 million-dollar payday from his fight with Saul Alvarez after PPV receipts. In your day, many fights were shown on closed circuit. I know fighters back then didn’t make 60 million but did you guys get a taste of the receipts for closed circuit?
Gerry answered the following questions on last week’s show:
Our first question came from Bobby L., who asked:
Gerry, based on his performance Saturday night against Seth Mitchell, what do you think Chris Arreola’s chances would be against either Klitschko brother?
Gerry does not think Arreola would do well against either Klitschko brother and that Mitchell was in way over his head, making Arreola look much better.
Our next question came from David Galster, who asked:
Hi Gerry, It is an honor to be able to email you. I am sure you have been asked this question a thousand times but if you had to do it all over again, would you forget about pacing yourself to go 15 rounds and go for an early knockout against Larry Holmes like you did with Ken Norton?
Gerry said if he could fight that fight over again, he definitely would have put more pressure on Holmes early on and try to take him out.
