Each week, Gerry will answer as many of your questions as he can on the Sirius XM radio show “Friday Night at The Fights,” which Gerry co-hosts with Randy “The Commish” Gordon, former Chairman of the New York State Athletic Commission.
The show airs every Friday on Sirius Sport Zone Channel 92 from 6-8 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.
Our first question comes from Ronnie F., who asks:
Gerry, I’m hearing that the WBA is forcing Gennady Golovkin to defend his middleweight title against someone named Jarrod Fletcher. I’ve never heard of him. Do you know anything about him?
Our next question comes from Terry G., who asks:
Gerry, there’s some chatter about Oscar De la Hoya training Marcos Maidana if Maidana fights Floyd Mayweather again. Do you think that would be a good or a bad thing?
Gerry answered the following questions on last week’s show:
Our first question came from Ricky T., who asked:
Gerry, this week, the WBC suspended Adrien Broner because of post-fight [after defeating Carlos Molina] comments he made. How do you feel about that?
Gerry thinks it is a step in the right direction and that Broner should tone down the rhetoric.
Our next question came from Jason M., who asked:
Gerry, based on what you saw in his fight with Luis Collazo, how do you think Amir Khan would do against the Floyd Mayweather we saw against Marcos Maidana?
Gerry thinks Mayweather-Khan would be a good fight but he doesn’t think Khan could beat Floyd.
