Each week, Gerry will answer as many of your questions as he can on the Sirius XM radio show “Friday Night at The Fights,” a show Gerry co-hosts with Randy “The Commish” Gordon, former Chairman of the New York State Athletic Commission.
The show airs every Friday on Sirius channel 92 and XM channel 208 from 6 – 8 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.
Our first question comes from Vincent T., who asks:
Gerry, this week we lost James Gandolfini. He was a great actor and I understand he was a big fight fan. Did you know him and if so, can you share some of your memories with us?
Our next question comes from Bernie Campbell, who asks:
Gerry, after a stellar amateur career, why did it take Gennady Golovkin so long to turn pro?
Gerry answered the following questions on last week’s show.
Our first question came from Paul J., who asked:
Gerry, this Saturday night, Juan Manuel Lopez squares off against Mikey Garcia. A lot of people feel that Lopez has had it. Do you agree?
Gerry felt Garcia would prove to be too much for Lopez - which he was.
Or next question came from Frankie D., who asked:
Gerry, next week, Adrien Broner will face Paulie Malignaggi. I see Malignaggi as an excellent boxer but without a lot of power, where Broner seems to have “heavy hands” though most folks agree he hasn’t really been tested by quality competition. How do you see this one, Gerry?
Gerry likes Malignaggi and give him props as an excellent boxer but he feels Paulie may be in trouble against Broner.
