Toshiaki Nishioka (39-4-3, 24 KOs) impressively retained his WBC super bantamweight title with a hard fought 12 round unanimous decision win over former two-division champion Rafael Marquez(40-7, 36 KOs) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on on Saturday night .
Nishioka finished the bout strongly against the Mexican warrior to win by scores of 117-111, 115-113, 116-112.
In the co main event and making his American debut unbeaten WBA light flyweight champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (30-0, 25 KOs), retained his title when he scored a stunning second round knockout over Omar Soto (22-9, 15 KOs).
An uppercut from the big-punching Gonzalez did the damage to put Soto down for the full 10 count, after :0.36 of the second round.
