Representatives of undisputed middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins (promoter Don King and attorney Arnold Joseph) were in New York yesterday meeting with representatives of Showtime and Frank Warren in hopes of putting together a multi-fight deal with 'the Executioner', sources have told MaxBoxing.com.
The three-fight deal would see Hopkins make his WBC mandatory defense against Erland Betare, then face WBO middleweight titlist Harry Simon and finally having a showdown with WBO super middleweight champ Joe Calzaghe.
For the past several weeks and months there has been rampant speculation as to just when and where Hopkins would end up fighting. There was talk of Hopkins fighting on November 2nd in a rematch against Felix Trinidad and a long-standing offer from Roy Jones.
