Carson, California -- Diego "Chico" Corrales of Sacramento, California improved to 37-1 (31 KO's) after stopping Damian Fuller in the third round of a scheduled ten round jr. lightweight contest in the main event of ESPN2's Friday Night Fights. Fuller used his southpaw jab as well as every inch of the ring in a defensive effort to keep the former world champion off of him but the Detroit native's lack of an offensive counter continually gave out an impression that he was not going to be in there for very long. With the loss Fuller's record now stands at 21-4 (10).

Action in round one saw Fuller using lateral movement in both directions while attempting to keep a stalking Corrales off balance with the jab, neither fighter landing a significant punch. Fuller landed his first telling punch in the second frame as he caught Corrales coming in with left hand that both stunned and fired up the former International Boxing federation title holder. Seconds later Corrales stunned Fuller with two right hands.

Early in the third frame Corrales forced Fuller to the ropes, blinded him with a short right hand before crushing him with a left hook that had Fuller on the canvas for several minutes following referee Ray Corona's ten count that stopped the contest at 48 seconds of round three.
